Record or contract level security is common among vendors. However, we have noticed that a number of vendors do not offer the field level and field set flexibility that is built into Contract Guardian.
Record-level (Meta data for contract) permissions are granted at the entity level, but you may have certain fields associated with an entity that contain data that is more sensitive than the other fields. For these situations, you use field level security to control access to specific fields. Examples might include certain financial or legal information that should only be seen by the CFO or the Legal Department. The scope of field level security is organization-wide and applies to all data access requests including viewing of the contract data, searching, reporting, and audit journals.
Turning this feature on is as simple as checking the restricted option in the fieldset checkbox and identifying the users/groups that are authorized.
